On 9th May 2023 we were delighted to host our first ever LGS outdoor Rock Festival. This event showcased the fantastic musical talent of around 80 of our pupils, with many more helping out behind the scenes. Our seven Rock Bands, representing pupils from every year group in school, treated us to songs from a range of musical genres including classic rock, indie, blues and pop. Three of these bands were performing on stage for the first (and definitely not last) time!
In addition to the Rock Bands, we also enjoyed music from our Ukulele Orchestra, Trad Group and Year 8 music group, while hot dogs, ice cream, face painting and circus performers helped the crowd get into the festival spirit.
Thanks to all the staff involved in organising this event, and to everyone who came to support their family and friends, as well as giving generously allowing us to raise £500 for Foyle Hospice.
