Religious Studies Year 8 Christmas Tree Festival

In Year 8 Religious Studies we study religious festivals, including Christmas. During this unit students have the option of designing and making their own version of a Christmas Tree which reflects their experience of the Christmas season. Each unique tree represents what Christmas means to each pupil. We are very proud of their work which showcases fantastic talent and creativity in the year group, and a special congratulations to Aidan (first place), Chloe (second place) and Shea (third place) on your outstanding creations in competition. Well done to everyone who took part, your work was fantastic!

Religious Studies Year 10 Islam Pillars Competition

In Year 10 Religious Studies one of the world faiths we study is Islam. During this unit students form groups and create a physical pillar which aims to explain how to fulfil one of the 5 pillars of the Islamic faith: Shahadah, Salah, Zakat, Sawm and Hajj. Each Religious Studies class creates all 5 pillars and they are judged by Pillar type across the classes to find a 1st 2nd and 3rd place for each religious observance. There were some excellent creations and a lot of ingenuity, leading to stiff competition and tough decisions for our judge Mrs Madden. Well done to all the winners!
