A Fond Farewell to Laura: From Limavady Grammar School to France

Limavady Grammar School bids a heartfelt farewell to one of its cherished staff members, Laura, who joined us in April 2021 as a senior clerical officer. This departure marks not only the end of an era but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Laura’s life as she embarks on a journey to France. Her presence and contributions will be greatly missed by all staff and pupils.

What makes Laura’s story particularly special is that she is not only a valued member of our school community, but also a past pupil of Limavady Grammar School. Returning to her alma mater as a staff member brought with it a sense of nostalgia and a unique perspective that enriched our shared experiences. It has been a pleasure for both Laura and her former teachers to work alongside each other, as they embraced the opportunity to collaborate and build upon the relationships established years ago.

As a senior clerical officer, Laura’s diligence, professionalism, and exceptional organisational skills have played a pivotal role in the smooth functioning of our administrative processes. Her dedication to her work and her ability to multitask with ease have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Laura’s presence in the office has been invaluable, and her positive attitude has brightened even the most challenging days.

While Laura’s professional contributions have been remarkable, it is her warm and caring nature that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of staff and pupils alike. She has built genuine connections, offering support and encouragement to those around her. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to lend an ear have created a sense of belonging and camaraderie within our school community.

As Laura sets off on her new adventure in France, we cannot help but feel a mix of emotions. While we are excited for the opportunities that await her, we will undoubtedly miss her infectious laughter, her unwavering commitment, and the radiant positivity she brought to Limavady Grammar School. Her departure serves as a reminder of the lasting impact she has made on the lives of those she encountered during her time here.

On behalf of the entire school community, we extend our warmest wishes to Laura as she embraces the next chapter of her life. May her journey be filled with joy, success, and endless adventures. While the halls of Limavady Grammar School will feel a little emptier without her presence, the memories and friendships forged will forever remain a testament to the remarkable person she is.

Farewell, Laura, and thank you for your invaluable contributions. You will be deeply missed.

What have you enjoyed about your time at LGS?

“As a past pupil of LGS, it has been so nice to come back as a member of staff. It has been fun to meet new people and to work alongside some of my past teachers (I’ll not say old in case I cause offence). The pupils are great and I have enjoyed interacting with them. I have also loved working with the ladies in the office – we made a great team!”

What will you miss about LGS?

“I will miss the friendly faces and the all the laughs! Limavady Grammar School won Best School in Northern Ireland in the Families First Awards for a reason; it really is a wonderful place to go to school and a great place to work.”
