Another amazing day of sport @ the annual LGS Sport Day, with impressive performances throughout all year groups.   A number of pupils achieved their personal best, and others breaking school records.  Well done, to all of the participants!

Surf Club 2018

The 40 pupils in LGS surf club enjoyed another 4 weeks of excellent surf this term and even had some sun. Longline Surf School at Benone were fantastic and worked hard with our beginning and intermediate surfers so that they saw great progress in their ability over the 4 weeks. Can’t wait until next year!

Swimming Success

Well done to Pablo, Sam and Alec who competed in the Swim Ulster Development Gala in Lisburn on Sunday, achieving two silvers, four bronzes and several qualifying times for the next competition level. Excellent swimming!

Visit from Game of Thrones Costume Designer

Year 11 Art & Design students were delighted to invite Christine Boyle, Costume Designer and Maker for the Game of Thrones.  Our students had great pleasure doing the workshop, taking inspiration from her work.  Sketching styles, fabric manipulation and experimentation has left the students buzzing with new ideas.  Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

Karate Success

Darcy again has been very successful with a Gold and a Silver in the Northern Ireland Karate championships, in Belfast at the weekend.  She came 1st in the Under14 Kumite Karate competition and 2nd the Under 14 Kata competition.  Well done!
