In order to ensure that the school offers its pupils more than an academic experience, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We believe that such activities broaden the experience of pupils and offer opportunities to develop interests which may be lifelong.

Aside from sporting activities, the range of extra-curricular activities is as extensive as possible within limits of staff/pupil interest.

Groups meet during lunch-time or after school where a longer period is needed and pupils are available. Members of teaching staff organise and oversee activities according to their areas of interest and in a reasonable staff-pupil ratio.

The list below shows the extensive range of activities on offer at Limavady Grammar School. Many pupils go on to achieve inter-provincial and international honours in their sports.

The school has a thriving Youth Club which offers a wide programme, extending from trampolining to darts and board games. Outdoor pursuits such as climbing, canoeing, camping and orienteering provide a unique challenge to young people in an environment different from the normal school one. We are currently the only school in Northern Ireland to have a full colour orienteering map of the school grounds.

There are regular trips to France or Austria for skiing and to England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland for outdoor pursuits and orienteering. We have visited the republic of Ireland and South Africa for rugby. There are hockey trips and French and German exchange visits.
