The A-Level Biology syllabus aims to sustain and develop an enjoyment of, and interest in the subject.  As biology influences our everyday lives in many ways, the syllabus includes a study of its application in such areas as agriculture, medicine, forensic science and biotechnology.

 As in other subjects, Biology A-Level is divided into two parts:

The Advanced Subsidiary (AS) award is completed in year 13 and covers three different modules:

Students progressing to the full A-Level award, complete an A2 series of Modules in year 14:

The teacher-assessed practical component will be completed as  part of normal laboratory work and in addition, a day-long field trip in year 14.
