The course is divided into three sections:

A and B are worth 52%.

(A)  The Challenge of Jesus involves the study of:

  1. Palestine in the time of Jesus.
  2. The  identity   of  Jesus  ie  His  Birth,  Death,   Resurrection   and Ascension.
  3. The teachings of Jesus - specific examples from Matthew and their implications for living today.
  4. His  deeds  -  specific  examples  from  Luke and  their implications  for living today.
  5. Death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

(B)  The Christian Church explored from two different denominations looks at: 

  1. Church architecture and furnishings.
  2. Styles of worship.
  3. Significance of the Sacraments.
  4. Role of key personnel eg Minister, Elder etc.
  5. Interdenominational activities.
  6. Crime and Punishment

(C)  Christian Morality (28%) looks at Christian teaching on the following:

  1. Relationships.
  2. Marriage.
  3. Parenting.
  4. Caring and Respect for Life.
  5. Social responsibilities.
  6. Crime and Punishment.

Two pieces of coursework are required each worth     10%.

The terminal exam consists of two papers 80%.
