
This course provides a foundation for further study including AS Technology & Design.
Current GCSE in Technology emphasises systems and control whereas graphic products enables students to:
Analyse existing products and produce practical solutions to needs and opportunities.
Develop skills of creativity and critical analysis.
Understand how designing and making reflect and influence cultures and societies.
Develop ICT skills, including CAD for coursework requirements.
The GCSE is comprised of two units:
Unit 1:Creative Design and Make Activity
This is internally assessed under controlled conditions and is worth 60% of total GCSE (Coursework - 40 Hours)
Unit 2:Knowledge and Understanding of Graphic Products
This is externally assessed and is worth 40% of total GCSE (Examination 1 hour 30 minutes)
