“One science class will follow the Triple Award Specification. The class will consist of the top twenty-four pupils who have opted to do Triple Award and the pupils will be selected on the basis of their overall performance in the Year 10 amalgamated science tracking assessments to date."

Subject Content:-

Unit 1: Cells, Living, Processes and Biodiversity
This unit deals with cells, photosynthesis and plants, nutrition and health, digestion, breathing and respiratory system, circulatory system and immunity, nervous system and hormones, classification and ecological relationships and energy flow.

Unit 2: Body Systems, Genetics, Microorganisms and Health
This unit deals with osmosis and plant transport, the excretory system, reproduction, fertility and contraception, chromosomes, genes and DNA, cell division and genetics, applied genetics, variation and selection, microorganisms, defence against disease, medicines and drugs.

Unit 3: Practical Skills
This controlled assessment unit makes up 25% of the qualification.
