Year 11 Year 12

The Course

Provides students with opportunities to engage in practical activities resulting in the production of fine art and design outcomes with reference, as appropriate, to approaches adopted by artists, designers and craftworkers when dealing with similar issues: 

Provides students with experiences in which their intellectual, practical and aesthetic abilities are focused in creative and imaginative work;

Encourages students to evaluate, appreciate, describe and draw conclusions about their own work and that of other students;

Promotes the use of both two and three-dimensional materials and processes.

Students will be required to:

 Submit 3 pieces of coursework (20% each)

Take an externally-set assignment (40%).

Coursework

Coursework accounts for 60% of the overall work and consists of two outcomes of which one must be two-dimensional and the other three-dimensional.

The Externally Set Assignment

The externally-set assignment accounts for 40% of the overall marks and requires candidates to respond to a given theme within a specific time limit.  This outcome may be either fine art or design, two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
